Privacy Policy

Last updated: draft, not yet published.

1. Introduction

Kintrusts (“we,” “us”) provides a guided, self-help tool for creating wills, trusts, and related estate-planning documents. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our service, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information — your email address and password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider, Supabase; we never see or store your raw password).
  • Profile and household information — your name, and, if you invite a household member, the email address you invite.
  • Document content — the information you enter into the questionnaire to generate your documents: names, addresses, relationships, asset descriptions, and similar estate-planning details.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, but we never receive or store your card number.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Generate the documents you request and let you save and resume your progress.
  • Link household accounts you explicitly invite, so a spouse can complete their own documents.
  • Process payment for the documents you choose to unlock.
  • Communicate with you about your account, such as invite emails or password resets.

We do not sell your information to third parties.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your account and document data is stored with Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage) and payments are processed by Stripe. Both are established providers that encrypt data at rest and in transit as part of their infrastructure.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete an individual plan and its documents at any time from your dashboard. You can also request deletion of your entire account and associated data from Settings, which is honored after a short grace period to protect against accidental deletion.

6. Cookies

We use only the essential cookies required to keep you signed in and to remember your light/dark theme preference — no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Your Rights

You can access, correct, or delete your information at any time through your account, or by contacting us using the details below.

8. Children's Privacy

Kintrusts is intended for adults creating their own estate-planning documents and is not directed to children under 18.

9. Changes to This Policy

We'll post any changes to this page and update the “last updated” date above.
